Yolo Federal Credit Union - Revolution!

Yolo Federal Credit Union is based in Yolo, California, a small community between Sacramento, Davis and the Bay Area. They were looking to create a marketing campaign that would speak to their youth customers to drive new accounts. This campaign was initially slated to run for three months. The results were staggering and Yolo decided to expand from the Soviet style propaganda imagery to South American revolutionary imagery. The campaign ran for over a year and was one of the most successful campaigns in the credit union's history.

OBJECTIVE: To create a compelling and provocative youth oriented campaign using a series of globally inspired “Revolution” stylized custom illustrations.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Demographics for this group is socially progressive and educated, some retirees, highly educated and socially aware. Preference is for catchy, clever, yet understated promotions. Current member cardholders, current member non-cardholders and non-members.

MEDIA: The campaign was intended to be a single run membership campaign. It was so successful that the client continued to run and develop the campaign over several years. It included posters, branch merchandising and mailers. Surprising to the client, people of all ageswere joining specifically to get the free t-shirt that utilized the campaign artwork.

Project Homebound - Mobile Application

Project Homebound is a mobile application for outreach workers in the unsheltered communities to track and compile actionable data and connecting unsheltered individuals with resources.

ROLE: I performed as the Project Manager for this project. I coordinated with community stakeholders such as United Way San Joaquin, San Joaquin County District Attorneys Office. San Joaquin County Office of Behavioral Health, Salvation Army and various local nonprofits.

CleanUp San Joaquin - Logo Design & Mobile Application

CleanUp San Joaquin is a mobile application for community residents to identify, report, track and monitor community improvement tasks and projects.

ROLE: I created the logo and was the primary programmer for this project using Kotlin, Firebase, Google Maps API and Android Studio. As the project developed and the team size grew, I performed as the Project Manager for this project. I coordinated with community stakeholders such as the City of Stockton and staff members of San Joaquin County Administrative Office.

OBJECTIVE

Annual product and service campaign promoting a variety of services and products.

CREATIVE

VP of Marketing had recently adopted a puppy. He “Really” wanted to do a “Dog Themed” campaign. If we needed a “Dog Model” he was happy to volunteer! The resulting campaign was colorful and fun and won many awards for its success. The following year, we saw many other credit unions create derivative works based on this campaign.

Honda Federal Credit Union - Outfitted for Fun!

Since its inception in 1966 the Honda Federal Credit Union has been serving its members in the Torrance, California area with exceptional financial products. Honda FCU has grown its membership to over 63,220 with assets of more than $775,741,530. They have a main office and 10 branch offices.

OBJECTIVE

Introduce a seasonal auto loan campaign, and encourage balance transfers to Honda FCU Auto Financing.

CREATIVE

Client is based out of the Midwest and wanted a campaign to reflect the “Outdoorsy” culture of their geographic demographic.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Energy First Credit Union - Snow Much Fun!

Energy First Credit Union Monterey Park CA is the 13th largest credit union in California and the 96th largest in the United States

OBJECTIVE

These are posters that went into all the branches of the credit union. They coordinated with a campaign created based on the V.P of Marketings direction. This project consisted of statement stuffers, posters, direct mail pieces, ads and internet marketing. The idea was using contemporary style illustrations to create recognizable environments that the target would respond to and feel a connection. I did the design and illustrations as well as all collateral pieces. This campaign won multiple awards and was tremendously successful!

Silicon Valley Credit Union (SVCU) was founded in 1953 for the employees of Varian Associates. Today approximately 100 companies use SVCU as an employee benefit. As of September 9, 2002, Silicon Valley Credit Union changed from a federal charter to a state charter and now is open to anyone who lives, works or worships in San Mateo or Santa Clara County. Currently, SVCU serves nearly 8,000 members with an asset size of over $96 million. They have four branches in the Silicon Valley

OBJECTIVE: To create visually compelling and provocative signage that represented the employed at the technical industry the credit union represents

MEDIA: Corporate logo sign 1/2" acrylic and brushed metal film on the front. Eagle 1/2" acrylic with custom color on the faces and edges, glued to the surface of the drywall with installation pattern.

Priority One Credit Union - Heroes! Annual Report

Priority One Credit Union is based in Pasadena, Califonria and was founded in 1926 as “The Los Angeles Postal Employees Savings and Loan Club”. Deposits were $184.00. Six loans were on the books totaling $244 with 76 members and has grown to $208 million in assets serving over 14,000 members.

OBJECTIVE: To create an annual report that reflected the credit unions committment to essential first responders following the events of September 1, 2001.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Current member cardholders, current member non-cardholders and non-members.

MEDIA: The annual report was published on a professional glossy card stock and saddle stitched for the annual membership meeting.

Established in 1969, WesCorp is Western Corporate Federal Credit Union—America’s largest corporate credit union. As a financial-services cooperative with approximately $28 billion in assets and more than 1,000 member/owner credit unions located throughout the United States and Guam, WesCorp operates under authorities granted by The National Credit Union Administration. Headquartered in San Dimas, California, WesCorp also provides member service through offices in Boise, Idaho; Honolulu, Hawaii; Salt Lake City, Utah; San Leandro, California; and Seattle and Spokane, Washington.

Premier Community Credit Union (Premier CCU) is now Self-Help Federal Credit Union (Self-Help FCU). Self-Help FCU is a non-profit, community development credit union serving more than 100,000 members through branches in northern, central, and southern California, Washington state, Illinois and Wisconsin.

Manteca Garden Club - Log and Identity Design

Manteca Garden Club is a social group located in Manteca, California. They were looking to create a logo and identity package that would speak to their members and the community. Their goal was to be seen as contemporary and modern so as to attract some younger members. They needed a logo that would be easily recognizable and could be used on a variety of media.

Capital Lending Strategies - Logo and Identity Package

The Client was a Texas-based, national finance company based out of Dallas Texas. They needed everything from logo and identity development to website and marketing design. They needed high-impact pieces that would grab attention and conveyed the urgency of the product which was speed oriented. The color red was determined by the client. I also designed the Client’sCorporate Identification and Guidelines Manual.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Demographics for this group are financial institutions who wish to expand their lending capabilities while remaining financially responsible.

Drawing from the cultural pallette of the Southern California Native American and Hispanic communities I designed the logo to represent the forward movement and growth of these communities.

Ceres Commerce Center - Logo and Signage

The Ceres Commerce Center which is a 87,000 square foot project featuring building sizes from 3,000 to 9,000 square feet and a 16,000 square foot retail development.

OBJECTIVE: To create a logo that represented the agricultural identity of the Ceres community and artistically represent the concept of "The many parts create the whole" of the organizational mission statement. The logo was used on stationary and signage for the project.

Energy First Credit Union - Log and Identity

Energy First Credit Union was looking for a new name and look while still staying true to their support in the power and energy employees that helped them grow to be a $300 Million Dollar credit union serving Southern California. They wanted a new mark that could still be associated visually in color with a more universal appeal. They requested that the mark be contemporary as well as conveying movement and energy.

USA Federal Credit Union - Logo and Identity

USA Federal Credit Union began in November 1953 with ten members as N.T.C. San Diego Employees Federal Credit Union. The employee-organized federal credit union was initially formed to serve the civilian employees of the Naval Training Center San Diego. In 1955, all military personnel working at N.T.C. were added to the field of membership. As the credit union grew to over $600 million USD in assets, and over 61,000 members, the field of membership expanded internationally allowing for USA Fed's presence in the Pacific Rim. From 2004 until 2007, the credit union marketed itself as USA Federal, unveiling a unified brand image across printed collateral materials and their online presence.

OBJECTIVE: To create a compelling and provocative logo mark that represented the core membership segment that had close ties to federal employment and the United States Military.

DocuStor and DocuShred - Logo Design

DocuStor is a commercial document storage and management company located in Modesto, California. After expanding into the document safety and shredding sector, they reached out to me for two complementary logos for these complementary business solutions. They had an established color palette that they wanted to maintain as it was already pard of theri identity.

Voila Entertainment is a talent management company that represents primarily South American and Carribbean recording artists.

Valley Aquatics - Sports Team Logo

Valley Aquatics is a competitive swim team based in Modesto, California. They were looking to create a logo that would represent the team and be used on team uniforms and swim caps.

San Francisco Federal Credit Union - Jump for Joy! Visa Campaign

San Francisco Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution located in the heart of San Francisco California. The credit union has been serving the San Francisco community since 1954 and offers a wide variety of financial services and products.

Teacher's College of San Joaquin - Mobile Application

Founded in 2009 by the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE), Teachers College of San Joaquin (TCSJ) is the only regionally accredited institution of higher education that is a department within a county office of education. TCSJ provides a variety of options for those who wish to pursue a career in the field of education: Teaching and Administrative Service Credentials, Induction (teaching and administrative), six Master of Education concentrations, as well as non-degree programs. The college serves over 1,000 students who work across 60 districts in an 8 county region of California.

OBJECTIVE: Written in Java, the TCSJ Mobile Application was due for some updates and improvement. I was tasked with creating several new view within the application, updating existing views and the navigation.
